myCred 1.5.1 is now available for download!

Updated on February 18, 2026

This minor update contains mostly bug fixes that were introduced in 1.5 or from previous versions. This update is particularly important for Multisite Users.

Multisites & Ranks

IF you are using Multisite and Ranks, you will need to do a few extra update steps in order to fix the bug related to ranks on multisites.
A. If you are using the Master Template feature

  1. Update myCred
  2. Go to your main sites myCred > Settings page in your admin area.
  3. If ranks are based on total accumulated points, click on “Calculate Totals” under “Ranks”.
  4. Under “Management” click “Assign Ranks to Users”.

B. If you are not using the Master Template feature

  1. Update myCred
  2. Go to each site in your network and in the admin area visit the myCred > Settings page.
  3. If ranks are based on total accumulated points, click on “Calculate Totals” under “Ranks”.
  4. Under “Management” click “Assign Ranks to Users”.

Number of members with particular Rank

When assigning ranks, users who at the time of assignment have no balance (excluded or brand new) will not gain a rank. Instead if they are not excluded, a rank will be given to them the next time they visit your website. This means that the “number of users with this rank” can show a incorrect number until all users who are not excluded has accessed your site.

Transfers

In 1.5.1 I have adjusted the transfer script to add support for custom error messages for those who want to customize how transfers work.

New Hook: Points for viewing content

  • Award points to users for viewing any post type on your website.
  • Award post authors for members viewing their content.

Note that each user/author can only gain points once per post view and no points can be awarded to authors when someone views their profile without being logged in.
For a complete list of changes, please consult the Changelog.
