myCRED Update

Home / Blog / myCRED Update

First of, an apology is in order. I have been away for a long time and and not been able to provide the same level of support as I have since myCRED was created. I do apologize for this.

With the low number of sales and the high popularity of myCRED it has been a hard couple of months. While I am working as hard as I can to answer emails and work my way though the forum, I am still way behind.

Since I can not get enough sales in the store to pay for the free support I am providing, I will be revamping the support forum. Technical issues and Premium add-on support will remain free. But the customizations I have been giving away for free (80% of my emails) will no longer be possible.

The past couple of months I have had to take on larger development works in order to make ends meet as I depleted my savings working 14 hours a day for free. This of course led to me falling behind on support emails as I could no longer afford to spend 14-16 hours a day on myCRED.

On Monday September 14th version 1.6.4 will be released to bring up compatibility to WP 4.3 and I intend to re-write the Sell Content add-on to allow sales of content using multiple point types. I will also add some minor changes like allowing stats to be used on the front end and not just the back end. But at this point I feel myCRED has a very large set of free features, covering a vast range of topics it can handle. So at this stage I do not plan on adding any new features to myCRED (unless some great ideas pop up from you guys/girls).

So I hope you can forgive me for my absence and be assured that I am working as hard as I can to answer emails and forum topics.

  1. Wow, thank you for coming back Gabriel.

I was planning on forking myCred but I no longer have to. 🙂

Are you available by email ? I have a small fix for the BP Charges add-on.

  2. is nice to hear you, so what is the next ?
ya, web developing is kind of time consumed task, especially for the beginning after you invest a lot time into it, you have to insist for a while and you will see the returns in the future.

  3. Hi Gabriel,

Good to see you’re back, have been waiting for your response for months now. I have purchased a premium plugin named MyCred for Userpro. But had issues with the plugin, the badges were not showing up on a user’s profile instead only blank spaces on adding them manually and on inserting them automatically all badges available were showing and not just earned badges. So the plugin was actually tremendously troublesome. Have not been able to use it since.

I understand your financial concerns, but please at least provide support for the errors in the paid add-on plugins, then people would definitely spread the good word and I am sure you will see a great hike in sales.

Over all mycred is a wonderful plugin. But please see that the issues people face with paid addons are resolved as anyways we have paid right 🙂

If you were able to resolve the badges error with the Userpro add on please send the latest copy of that add-on to me. I would really like to use mycred on my site and with userpro and don’t mind if your entire system was paid and you charged more for your add-ons, but the support must be good.

Hope to hear from you and get the badges issue on user-pro add on resolved.

Wish you great luck with your mycred plugin and all other endeavours.

    You deserve more 🙂

    Thanks and Regards

  4. Hi Gabriel! A great pleasure to meet you again 🙂
Mycred plug-in is one of the perfect works ever made on an individual basis.
On this day, this plugin has no needs in the new features, I think. But there are a huge number of possibilities and hidden functions which many users do not know (and I
too) .All we need to study more deeply and improve it’s current state.
On this day, there is a need to amend the relationships in this forum.
To make possible, as before, in getting quick support. Maybe it makes sense to divide it into premium(paid) and free versions?

  5. Thank you Gabriel. I love what you’ve done with myCRED and hope you will continue working on it for a long time to come. If it becomes necessary, please consider further monetizing myCRED so that it is able to help you make ends meet. I would be willing to pay an annual license fee for the core software in exchange for updates and premium support. Consider the Gravity Forms payment model. It would be worth it for peace of mind knowing that myCRED is sustainable and here to stay.

  6. Hi Gabriel,

I think you should start charging people for this plugin. I know it’s free. But this plugin is too good to be free. Why won’t you do a yearly subscription fee and provide customers with customization support? (You can even make this an additional charge) I’m just saying…you sound exhausted my friend.

Thank you so much for everything.

  7. Currently I think mycred is a fulfilled plugin to use. If you can integrate a new premium add-on like this then you may get more sells.
    Add-on Name: myCred Betting
Description: This add-on allows users to reward Points when they Win (by joining a Betting Competition). Besides this add-on allows users to Lose/Deduct Points when they become Loser (by joining a Betting Competition. )

    Pls make this addon.

  8. Hello Gabriel, I wondered here exactly what you wrote as the reason for his absence. The implementation of the plugin was a success on my website and I would be happy to pay you for a “pro version” of mycred if you launch this, with included premium support and more resources.
I believe this would be the best way for you to continue your excellent work in MyCred.
Another tip: place a paypal donation button on plugin dashboard and

  9. I’m glad you are back also and I agree with Moises and the donate button. One issue I am having though is with the Lottery addon and it not paying winners. I would very much appreciate some assistance. Thanks. 🙂

  10. What I want to know is how can we trust you won’t leave again?

Offering these tools to our members is a long term investment. We can’t remove them without doing major harm to our reputation. Our users would be very upset to find out that something they put a lot of time in suddenly is removed.

So how do we know a year or more from now these plugins will still be maintained and compatible?

  11. Hi,
I’m very happy that you are back. I hope the best for your health 🙂

My humble idea for paying you:
#A) you let us pay tokens when we ask a question in your forum, or
#B) you let us pay tokens for access to the anwser ex: code snipet

    1. If you are using that version then your only option is:

      1. Disable myCRED on your website but do not delete the plugin via the admin area!
      2. Download a copy of 1.6.4 from and unzip it.
      3. Upload the plugin via FTP, replacing your current copy.
      4. Re-enable myCRED.

  12. Awesome!! Welcome back Gabriel.. I really love the core plugin and the features of myCRED. No real alternative on the market….
We currently paid the premium plugin for videos (not working yet – we were patient – but looking forward for your answer in the forum ;-)) and we would like to continue the same in the future – pay for this awesome plugin!!!

  13. Welcome back, Gabriel, and thanks for the update.

You put a lot of people in a quite a bit of predicament with you disappearance 🙂 but we’re glad you’re back and have plans to keep this initiative alive and current.

A lot of us benefit greatly using this plugin, and don’t mind paying to keep this alive and for support. So, it’s good to see you’re taking the necessary steps to ensure your efforts and dedication is being compensated accordingly.

Hopefully you got the much needed break/rest you needed, and now that you’re back, a break from those pesky flies (was it?). Oh yes, people here cyber-stalked you when you went AWOL 🙂

Last, but not the least, a big THANK YOU for everything you’ve done for the community so far. Looking forward to great times ahead.
