I have begun working on the next version of the Lottery add-on bringing you new features and improvements.
Lottery Entries
In version 1.2 I will be re-writing how lottery entries are saved in your database to improve performance, especially for lotteries with a large number of entries.
Schedule
I am re-writing the lottery schedule to give you better control of how often a lottery runs or how long it runs. I will also be adding the option to run manual lotteries without any schedule.
Prizes
While I want to focus on lotteries paying out points, I will be adding in the option to give a user a store product as well as points for winners. You will be able to select from a dropdown list of your published products and once a winner is drawn, the lottery add-on will place an order in your store and mark it as paid for that particular user and the selected product.
I am also going to add support for payout formulas. For example, instead of setting an amount of points a user gets, you can set to give them for example points based on the total number of entries or even a percentage of the total amount of points paid to play.
New Requirements
Version 1.2 of the lottery add-on will have the following new minimum requirements:
- PHP 5.3 or higher
- WP 3.8 or higher
- myCred 1.4 or higher
Existing lottery add-on users will receive an invite to try the beta as it becomes available.
